Introduction
Siblings play important role in individual development. Global questionnaires and interviews have observed sibling day-to-day exchanges in offline settings. However, we know much less about how siblings interact online, despite the fact that social media has become an important platform for sibling communication and connectedness. This study uses Twitter data to select a sample of siblings and study sibling connectedness and similarities on social media. Part of the findings is consistent with understanding about siblings in offline settings while others are inconsistent. Future directions include up-scaling the sample using machine learning methods to further validate the findings.
